FITT Echoes – vol. III
The responsible flow, FITT’s sustainability strategy, aims to reduce environmental impact and CO2e emissions.
There are many ongoing and planned activities for contributing to the fight against climate change.
To date, our commitment in this direction is leading us to compensate all the emissions from the production of our most innovative products.
INNOVATION is the drive behind FITT’s business, and the starting point for limiting CO2e emissions.
Limiting CO2 emissions is a tangible objective that FITT pursues on several fronts: in the research into new materials, the improvement of the efficiency of production lines, the use of energy from renewable sources, the optimisation of logistic services and the reduction of our packaging.
FITT Force, FITT NTS Eco, FITT Bluforce and FITT Freel are the result of this innovative approach to significantly limit CO2e.
TRANSPARENCY is the criterion applied by FITT when investigating its own impacts and communicating them to all its stakeholders.
This is why we carry out an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) according to international standards ISO 14040 and 14044: a scientific tool that allows us to identify and measure the environmental impacts of our products, from the sourcing of raw materials to the disposal of the finished product.
INTERDEPENDENCE is FITT’s capability of maximising its own positive impact on the community and of promoting the responsible development of the sector, through partnerships with all the stakeholders.
WATER IS LIFE
For this reason, after reducing the environmental impact of FITT Force, FITT NTS Eco, FITT Bluforce and FITT Freel, we have chosen to
compensate the remaining CO2e emissions through the purchase of Gold Standard certified carbon credits generated by the Water is Life project in partnership with Wami Water.
By purchasing these products, everyone can contribute to bring 80,000 litres of drinking water to one of the poorest areas of Madagascar.
A challenging goal that now allows us to compensate the CO2e emissions of our innovative products, with certified LCA and lower environmental impact.
FITT Bluforce, FITT Force, FITT NTS Eco and FITT Freel lead the way in this commitment. What are the results?
FITT Bluforce is the first PVC-A product platform to boast the EPD® label in Europe. This is an environmental product declaration that provides certified product life cycle data according to the ISO 14025 and EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 international standards.
FITT Freel is made from 30% recycled plastic and is designed to combine a hose reel and the innovative compact and lightweight FITT Force hose in one solution.
FITT Force, with a 43% reduction in CO2e emissions during production when compared to a traditional FITT NTS hose, is up to 2 times lighter and 3 times more compact than a traditional hose.
FITT NTS Eco thanks to innovative materials, reduces CO2e emissions by 15% when compared to a traditional FITT NTS hose, while maintaining high performance levels.
For FITT, safeguarding the planet means reducing its environmental impact and compensating CO2e emissions – a priority in line with its sustainability strategy to 2030, The responsible flow.
The FITT’s strategy to reduce CO2e emissions is based on four actions: measure, know, reduce and offset.
